A CALL TO PRAYER FROM SISTER UMIDA, UZBEKISTAN

Malika-New

Malika, a 25-year-old woman, reached out to us after watching our videos online.

“I am really interested in what you are sharing,” she said. “I am a Muslim, I live in a small city, and I am fascinated by Isa and His message. I even went to an Orthodox church, but I didn’t understand much there. Then I saw your videos—you speak about Isa in a simple, clear way that anyone can understand.

We began corresponding with Malika, sending her helpful materials, and soon we started reading the Bible together. Those times were full of wonder and discovery. Malika was learning about the very heart of Christianity—grace, forgiveness, and the God of love who sent Jesus to save us.

Later, we arranged for a local pastor to meet with her. He did, and he shared the Gospel personally. Malika listened with an open heart and deep interest.

We continued to explore the Bible together in our online sessions.
Then, suddenly, Malika disappeared.

We don’t know what happened. In many similar cases, families discover that their adult children are speaking with Christians—and their reaction can be harsh. Sometimes it’s violent, even life-threatening. Often, fear takes over, and young people are warned about the “dangers” of Christianity or threatened with being cast out of their families.

Please pray for Malika—and for hundreds of young Uzbeks like her—who are sincerely searching to know who Jesus truly is.

We will continue to share the Good News with millions across Uzbekistan.
Pray that the seeds planted in hearts like Malika’s will grow strong and bear much fruit.
